I am a disabled veteran, and for a number of years
I was not really interested in computers, but recently
due to a number of unfortunate circumstances that
took place in my life I decided to try to learn how to
operate and become proficient on the computer. This
is really big for someone who grew up in a time
period when no one know what a computer was and
certainly did not contemplate using one. For those of
us who are middle-age and not technical minded it really
is a challenge to learn how to correctly operate one. It
was a lot easier doing things the old way. As this
technology thing keeps getting bigger and bigger all of
us older Americans find that we have to change with
the times or get left behind.
Today we have banking online, paying utility bills
online, talking to the grandkids online, sending
pictures online and listening to music on the computer,
talking to the boss online, and communicating to
employees online. Where does it end? I certainly
do not know, but as I struggle to learn more about
operating a computer and learning how to perform
various functions, and how to save information and
deal with my email and spam I am finding out that
it is slowly getting a little bit easier for me. I do
enjoy doing searches on the computer because there is
such a huge wealth of information to be found on the
internet.
OK, getting back to why I wanted to learn how to
operate a computer in the first place. My goal is to
become proficient so I can start and operate a
successful online business. I have been training and
teaching myself computer knowledge for months now.
The world is moving fast, the cost of living is going up
and the average person is having a hard time making
a living now. So it is even harder for those of us who
are disabled and cannot work outside the home. I feel
like I have found a solution to my money problem. I
